Co-Op Program

The Co-Op Program is an elective 5-month credit-bearing program for our undergraduate MECH students. The program offers final year undergraduate students an opportunity to gain practical work experience and design opportunities in an engineering company. While engaging in full-time positions in the companies, the students may also opt to conduct a design project based upon their work during the co-op employment period to fulfill the program requirement of a Final Year Design Project.

Assessment

Participating students are required to take MECH 4950, the “Co-op Program”, a 3-credit course to officially enroll in the program.   Their working attitude and performance, will be assessed by the industrial supervisor.

To facilitate both the students and corporate partners benefitting from the program, each project will be assigned with a faculty member to provide support for the students and to monitor the students’ progress with the projects.
