The Department of MAE invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) and is seeking outstanding candidates with a strong commitment to research and teaching in the field of Aerospace Engineering.

The positions are open to all areas of Aerospace Engineering, including but not limited to:

•    Aerodynamics and aeroacoustics
•    Aerospace structures and materials
•    Air transport and operations
•    Autonomous systems and control
•    Electric and hydrogen propulsion

•    Satellite communication and navigation

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering or related fields, and a strong record of research and teaching excellence. In addition to research, the successful candidates will be expected to expand the teaching curriculum in Aerospace Engineering. As a faculty member, there will be the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues in a dynamic and supportive environment. The appointees will also be expected to establish an externally-funded research program as well as contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Appointment at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) will be considered.  Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave and housing will be provided where applicable. Appointment for Professor will be on substantive basis. Appointment for Assistant/Associate Professor will normally be on a three-year contract.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.

Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill a substantiation-track faculty position in Smart and Digital Manufacturing.

The position is open to advanced manufacturing areas, including artificial intelligence/machine learning and data mining in optimization and control, diagnostics/identification/prognostics of defects, fabrication, and assembly operations.  Experiences in the translation of scientific methods and technologies into industry involving sustainable designs and recycling, scalable micro/nano-manufacturing, multi-axis additive manufacturing, and autonomous electric vehicles (e.g., UAVs, USVs) would be advantageous.

The appointment will be based in the Department of MAE which possesses world-leading expertise in aeroacoustics, materials, manufacturing, and energy areas.  Successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally-funded research program as well as contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate teaching across the Department.  The appointee will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the University with access to world class facilities.
